Ironman UK
Don't know if anyone is doing Ironman UK this weekend but good luck if you are.
Sadly, due to a training accident and some cracked ribs that has lost me too much training and left it too painful to swim, I have had to drop out. Truly gutted that all the long hours spent training and the sacrifices I and my family have had to make have been for nothing, not to mention the entry cost which I will not get refunded. Needless to say, I will be one grumpy old man come Sunday.
The silver lining in this particular cloud though is the announcement of a new long distance event from one of the best triathlon organisers in the country, One Step Beyond to take place in August 2010. Being nice and local and being friends with the organisers, I am really looking forward to giving this one a go next year.
